He has experience in coaching a wide range of individuals, from teenage to geriatric and from athletes to the everyday gym goers. His expertise is in strength and conditioning as well as movement/technique. If you are wanting to be able to get off the floor or lift the world, he has you covered.

Jason Staff
Trainer

A lifelong athlete, Jason received his NASM personal training certification while at Texas A&M University where he served as a personal trainer at the Rec. Center. Following his graduation with honors in 2013 Jason moved to Rockport where he continues to use his 10+ years of knowledge and experience to help clients achieve their goals and improve their lifestyle. His passion is to help people change their lives in the simplest and most realistic way possible. Jason assists clients at all fitness levels, whether you have never been in a gym or are a seasoned "gym rat"  to reach their goals by using good form and steady progression with a scientific approach to nutrition and exercise. Rome wasn't built in a day!

Bryan Cates
Trainer

Hi Im Bryan Cates, a dedicated fitness professional based in Rockport, Texas. At 46 years old, I have spent my entire life immersed in the world of fitness, cultivating a passion that has led me to become an ACE Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise.

I specialize in youth strength and sports conditioning, drawing from my own competitive experience in league football. I'm proud to have trained my son, who now plays on the university tennis team at Schreiner University, demonstrating my commitment to nurturing athletic potential in young athletes.

In addition to working with youth, I focus on strength and overall well-being for adults aged 55 and up. My programs are designed to improve balance, mobility, and muscle maintenance, ensuring that older adults can stay active and healthy.

As a resident of Rockport, I am eager to help the community get fit through personalized and group training sessions. I believe in the transformative power of fitness and am dedicated to guiding you on your journey to achieving your goals. Whether you're looking to enhance athletic performance or improve your overall health, I am here to support and motivate you every step of the way. Let’s get fit together!

Ernest Valdez

I started my fitness journey back in 2011, when I joined my first Crossfit Gym. A year later, after getting hooked and immersed in the fitness lifestyle, I pursued and earned my Level 1 Crossfit Training Certification. I went on to train Clientele at all fitness levels at an affiliated gym and pursued independent fitness ventures for the next 5 years. My training experience and fitness journey brought me to Platinum Fitness back in 2016 where I organized and ran Strength and Conditioning Classes. Unfortunately, Hurricane Harvy took it’s toll on Rockport in 2017, and my employment put me in a predicament where I could no longer run and maintain the program. Eventually, I was able to continue with my fitness education and pursued and earned my Level 2 Crossfit Training Certification. I continued with independent fitness ventures and have found myself back at Platinum Fitness. I am once again offering Platinum Fitness Clientele an opportunity to participate in my Strength and Conditioning Programming and join in classes.

My 10+ years of experience in the field has put me in various Trainer Positions where I have trained hundreds of clientele from beginners to advanced level athletes and have engaged classes from 1 to 20+ attendees. My programming is catered to the individual athlete based on their level and experience, no matter what the class size may be. The goal is increased strength and endurance for healthier living, a fit lifestyle, and enhanced sports performance.
